Vietnam’s fabrics industry
Vietnam’s fabric industry underpins the country’s textile and garment sector, supplying both domestic manufacturers and export markets.
Production is concentrated in synthetic and blended fabrics, while reliance on imported raw materials, particularly from China and South Korea, remains significant.
The sector is expanding alongside apparel exports, supported by trade agreements and rising foreign investment into upstream textile production.
However, environmental compliance, energy costs and limited domestic input capacity continue to constrain the industry’s move up the value chain.
