SK logistics firm acquires VN partner

The Korea Times is reporting that South Korea’s CJ Logistics will take full control of its Vietnam joint venture with Gemadept, acquiring the remaining 49.1 percent stake in CJ Gemadept Logistics Holding.

The deal gives CJ Logistics 100 percent ownership of the logistics unit, while transferring its 49 percent stake in CJ Gemadept Shipping Holding to Gemadept.

The restructuring separates logistics and shipping operations, allowing each firm to focus on core segments, with CJ Logistics targeting higher-margin contract logistics, the article says.

Indian clean energy firm market entry

Solar Quarter is reporting that India-based August Energy and Mega Energy have formed August Mega Energy, a joint venture targeting Vietnam’s commercial and industrial clean energy segment.

The platform is backed by up to US$100 million in equity and debt and plans to deploy more than 200 megawatt-peak of solar and battery storage capacity over three years, the article says.

Vietnamese fashion Vogue feature

VNG revenue

Tuoi Tre is reporting that technology firm, VNG Corporation, reported 2025 net revenue of VND 10,894 billion (US$413 million), up 17 percent, with 22 percent from foreign markets.

Zalo generated revenue of VND 1,718 billion (US$65 million), up 38 percent, while Zalopay generated revenue of VND 1,111 billion (US$42 million), up 47 percent.

Online gaming remained the largest segment at VND 8,162 billion (US$310 million).

Trade ministry industry warnings trade investigations

Dau Tu Kien Thuc is reporting that Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade warned that exports worth US$3.4 billion, mainly wooden-framed sofas, face the risk of United States trade investigations.

The United States has imposed anti-dumping and countervailing duties on similar Chinese products, increasing scrutiny on Vietnam as a major supplier with a rising market share, the article says.

Vingroup block trade foreign investor US$182m

Dau Tu Kien Thuc is reporting that Vingroup’s VIC recorded a block trade of over 35.3 million shares on April 1, valued at nearly VND 4,800 billion (US$182 million).

It also recorded a net exit of foreign investors worth a net VND 1,248 billion (US$47 million).

Despite heavy foreign selling, VIC rose 4.4 percent and contributed to the VN-Index surpassing 1,700 points, the article notes.

VinHomes dividend

VTC News is reporting that Vinhomes plans to pay a record cash dividend of nearly VND 25,000 billion (US$949 million), about VND 6,000 per share.

This marks the company’s first cash dividend in five years, with its last dividend paid out in 2021.

The payout will be funded from retained earnings, alongside a bonus share issuance.

Parent Vingroup, holding 73.5 percent, is expected to receive over VND 18,000 billion (US$683 million) from the dividend.

SK’s Hyosung VN operations struggling

Dau Tu Kien Thuc is reporting that Hyosung Vina Chemicals reported a 2025 net loss of VND 4,208 billion (US$160 million), raising accumulated losses to VND 21,566 billion (US$818 million).

Gov. economy expectations Iran war

VnExpress is reporting that Finance Minister Nguyen Van Thang has told a National Assembly Standing Committee meeting that the Middle East conflict is likely to have significant spillover effects across production, exports, investment, tourism and financial markets, also acknowledging rising oil prices will pressure domestic costs and inflation.

Despite the risks, however, the government is maintaining its double-digit growth target, expecting policy flexibility, public investment and new growth drivers to offset external shocks, the article says.

Cassava prices rising

Dau Tu Kien Thuc is reporting that Vietnam’s cassava exports are rising in value and volume, with shipments reaching 1.06 million tonnes worth US$359.41 million by mid-March 2026.

Export prices averaged US$348.71 per tonne in early March, up 19.5 percent year on year.
