ToggleIn February, Vietnam imported US$475.74 million worth of goods from India, down from US$678.58 million in January, a change of -29.89 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has imported US$1,160 million worth of goods from India.
Vietnam imported US$46.64 million worth of machinery, equipment, tools, and instruments from India in February. This was down from US$60.06 million in January, a change of 22.36 percent.
Vietnam imported US$44.06 million worth of other base metals from India in February. This was down from US$84.04 million in January, a change of 47.57 percent.
Vietnam imported US$43.11 million worth of iron and steel from India in February. This was down from US$45.02 million in January, a change of 4.24 percent.
Vietnam imported US$35.85 million worth of other petroleum products from India in February. This was up from US$2.04 million in January, a change of 1,654.06 percent.

Vietnam’s trade with India this year
In February, Vietnam imported goods worth US$475.74 million from India and exported US$850.12 million, bringing total trade to US$1,325.87 million and resulting in a trade surplus of US$374.38 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and India has reached US$3,005.31 million, with Vietnam importing US$1,159.74 million worth of goods and exporting US$1845.56 million.

Vietnam-India trade relations
Vietnam and India have steadily expanded economic ties since establishing diplomatic relations in 1972, with trade gaining momentum after Vietnam’s economic reforms and deeper regional integration.
Bilateral engagement strengthened further with the ASEAN-India Free Trade Agreement, which reduced tariffs and facilitated greater flows of goods between the two economies.
