ToggleIn February, Vietnam imported US$2,615.37 million worth of goods from Taiwan, down from US$3,606.77 million in January, a change of -27.49 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam has imported US$6,257 million worth of goods from Taiwan.
Computers were Vietnam’s largest import category from Taiwan in February at US$2,024.46 million, down from US$2,753.44 million in January, a decline of 26.48 percent.
Fabrics followed at US$104.32 million, down from US$138.69 million, a decrease of 24.78 percent.
Machine, equipment, tools and instruments reached US$97.35 million, down from US$159.22 million, a decline of 38.86 percent.
Chemicals and plastics stood at US$54.90 million and US$54.64 million respectively, down 8.92 percent and 43.26 percent from January.

Vietnam’s trade with Taiwan this year
In February, Vietnam imported goods worth US$2,615.37 million from Taiwan and exported US$432.87 million, bringing total trade to US$3,048.24 million and resulting in a trade deficit of US$2,182.51 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Taiwan has reached US$7,224.30 million, with Vietnam importing US$6,256.86 million worth of goods and exporting US$967.44 million.

Exports to Taiwan in February
In February, Vietnam exported US$433 million worth of goods to Taiwan, down 19.02 percent over January, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. Read more→
Taiwan Cooler Master factory expansion plans
Taiwan’s Cooler Master plans to increase its investment in Vietnam’s Bac Ninh province to US$3 billion, expanding its production of cooling systems for artificial intelligence servers and data centres.
The company’s initial project, approved in 2023 and expanded to US$200 million in 2024, began operations in July 2025 with about 1,300 workers. Read more→

Taiwan is one of Vietnam’s largest foreign investors, with companies active in electronics, textiles, and industrial production.
