ToggleIn February, Vietnam imported US$991.35 million worth of goods from Thailand, down from US$1162.76 million in December, a change of -14.74 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has imported US$2,171 million worth of goods from Thailand.
Vietnam imported US$177.14 million worth of computers in February, down from US$192.04 million in January, a change of 7.76 percent.
Motor vehicle imports rose to US$97.98 million in February, up from US$62.20 million in January, a change of 57.52 percent.
Vietnam also imported US$79.64 million worth of electric consumer products and parts, and US$75.75 million in machines, equipment, tools and instruments, both down from January levels.

Vietnam’s trade with Thailand
In February, Vietnam imported goods worth US$991.35 million from Thailand and exported US$793.04 million, bringing total trade to US$1,784.39 million and resulting in a trade deficit of US$198.32 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Thailand has reached US$3,779.72 million, with Vietnam importing US$2,171.04 million worth of goods and exporting US$1,608.68 million.

Thai meat revenue down
Thailand’s Charoen Pokphand Foods, a key meat producer, has reported Vietnam revenue of US$3.22 billion in 2025, down 17 percent year on year, the lowest level since 2020.

Vietnam-Thailand trade relations
Vietnam and Thailand established diplomatic relations in 1976 and have since expanded economic ties through regional frameworks, including the ASEAN Free Trade Area and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.
Bilateral trade has grown steadily, supported by tariff reductions, improved connectivity, and integration into regional manufacturing and supply chains.
Cooperation is guided by joint committees, action plans, and initiatives such as the Vietnam–Thailand Enhanced Strategic Partnership, which promotes trade, investment, and logistics linkages.
Both countries continue to deepen collaboration in sectors such as agriculture, energy, retail, and automotive, while working to facilitate cross-border trade within Southeast Asia.
