Vietnam plastic products imports up 33.85 percent in March 2026 / China +38.67%, South Korea +14.81%

Vietnam imported plastic products to the tune of US$940 million in March, up from US$702 million in February, a change of 33.85 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year to date, Vietnam imported US$2,679 million worth of plastic products by the end of March.

China accounted for US$580 million in March, up from US$418 million in February, a change of 38.67 percent. Year to date, imports from China reached US$1,688 million.

South Korea followed with US$126 million in March, up from US$110 million in February, a change of 14.81 percent. Year to date, imports from South Korea totalled US$372 million.

Japan recorded US$85 million in March, up from US$64 million in February, a change of 33.66 percent. Year to date, imports from Japan reached US$224 million.

Taiwan and Thailand rounded out the top five, with Taiwan at US$34 million, up from US$24 million, and Thailand at US$27 million, up from US$19 million. Year to date, imports from Taiwan totalled US$90 million, while Thailand reached US$67 million.
