SK + VN leaders meeting outcomes

Bloomberg is reporting that Vietnam and South Korea signed 12 agreements covering security, technology and nuclear power cooperation during talks between To Lam and Lee Jae Myung in Hanoi.

Vinfast car deliveries jump

In an SEC filing, VinFast has reported preliminary global deliveries of 58,577 electric vehicles in Q1 2026, up 61 percent year on year.

The Limo Green (12,693 units) and VF 3 (11,088 units) were the top-selling models, followed by the VF 5, VF 6, and VF 7.

The company also delivered 143,136 e-scooters and e-bikes, a 219 percent increase.

Singapore firm buy out local partner Cai Mep LNG terminal

Gas World is reporting that Singapore-based AG&P LNG has agreed to acquire the remaining 51 percent stake in the Cai Mep terminal from Hai Linh Company, taking full ownership of the LNG import facility in Vung Tau.

The terminal has a capacity of three million tonnes per annum, with plans to double throughput to six million tonnes under full control and integrate it into US-based Nebula Energy’s global LNG network. View source→

Japanese flour factory HCMC

Thanh Nien is reporting that Japan’s Maruyama Shinji has announced a US$21 million tempura flour plant in Ho Chi Minh City.

VP Bank chasing high-risk, high-reward

Nha Dau Tu is reporting that the CEO of VPBank, Nguyen Duc Vinh, has said VPBank is accepting higher non-performing loans in order to access higher-yield retail and small business customers.

In addition, he notes that bad debts are rising in retail and small and medium enterprises.

Sacombank passes on crypto exchange

HCMC-Hanoi flight fuel surcharge

Thanh Nien is reporting that the Civil Aviation Authority has proposed a fuel surcharge of VND 311,000 (US$11.80) per flight for the Hanoi–Ho Chi Minh City route.
