In February, Vietnam imported US$46.28 million worth of goods from the Netherlands, down from US$69.00 million in January, a change of -32.93 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam had imported US$115 million worth of goods from the Netherlands by the end of February.
Vietnam imported US$12.19 million worth of other products from the Netherlands in February, down from US$14.31 million in January, a decline of 14.81 percent.
Machinery and pharmaceutical imports reached US$11.18 million and US$6.18 million, both declining 35.37 percent and 8.99 percent month on month.
Motor vehicle parts imports fell to US$2.89 million, while plastics rose to US$2.75 million, marking a 34.86 percent decline and a 41.28 percent increase, respectively.

Vietnam’s trade with the Netherlands this year
In February, Vietnam imported goods worth US$46.28 million from Netherlands and exported US$921.81 million, bringing total trade to US$968.09 million and resulting in a trade surplus of US$875.53 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Netherlands has reached US$2,356.35 million, with Vietnam importing US$115.36 million worth of goods and exporting US$2,240.99 million.

Danang port project goes to the VN-Netherlands consortium
A consortium of Vietnam’s Hateco and Netherlands-based APM Terminals B.V., part of Denmark’s A.P. Moller Maersk, has been chosen to develop the Lien Chieu container port in Danang.
The project has a total investment of over VND45,268 billion (US$1.72 billion) across 172 hectares, including eight berths capable of handling vessels up to 18,000 TEU.
Construction is scheduled through the first quarter of 2036, with initial berths and supporting infrastructure to be completed and operational between 2025 and 2028. Read more→
