Vietnam’s computer industry

Vietnam’s computer and electronics industry is a core pillar of its export-driven manufacturing economy, led by multinational firms and contract manufacturers.

The sector benefits from competitive labour costs, expanding industrial zones, and integration into global supply chains, particularly in assembly and component production.

Key export products include computers, peripherals, and electronic components, with major markets in the United States, China, and the European Union.

Government policy continues to prioritise high-tech investment, though challenges remain around local value addition, supply chain depth, and workforce skills.
