Vietnam’s computers industry
Vietnam’s computer industry is a key export sector, driven by foreign-invested manufacturers such as Samsung, Intel, and Foxconn, with production focused on assembly and components.
The country exports laptops, desktops, and electronic components primarily to the USA, China, and the European Union, supported by competitive labour costs and trade agreements.
Vietnam remains dependent on imported inputs, including semiconductors and high-value components, limiting domestic value added within the supply chain.
The sector is expected to grow alongside global demand for electronics, though it faces risks from supply chain disruptions, shifting trade policies, and rising competition from regional producers.
