ToggleVietnam exported phones to the tune of US$5,601 million in March, up from US$5,485 million in February, a change of 2.13 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam had exported US$16,748 million worth of phones by the end of March.
China accounted for US$1,195 million of Vietnam’s phone exports in March, up from US$1,032 million in February, a change of 15.76 percent. Year to date, exports to China reached US$3,540 million.
The United States followed with US$834 million in March, up from US$799 million in February, a change of 4.36 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$2,672 million worth of phones to the United States.
South Korea recorded US$706 million in March, up marginally from US$705 million in February, a change of 0.10 percent. Year to date, exports to South Korea totalled US$1,819 million.
Japan posted US$258 million in March, up from US$254 million in February, a change of 1.33 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$707 million worth of phones to Japan.
Austria rounded out the top five with US$234 million in March, up from US$198 million in February, a change of 18.14 percent. Year to date, exports to Austria reached US$652 million.

Samsung chip testing and packaging facility possibility
Samsung Electronics plans a US$4 billion investment to build a chip packaging plant in northern Vietnam, with an initial US$2 billion phase in Thai Nguyen.
