the-shiv’s Business and Economy Editorial Internship Program is for fresh grads or final year university students looking to develop their business writing skills.
It’s structured around a 12-unit course. That is 1 unit per week for 12 weeks, though participants can move at their own pace (within reason).
This is a fully remote internship, though participants should expect to commit roughly 20 hours a week, including participating in two one-hour mentoring sessions a week.
This is an unpaid internship; however, on completion of the course, participants should have a portfolio of at least three international-standard articles published on the-shiv.com.
Participant requirements:
- Must be comfortable interviewing people.
- Fluent in spoken English.
- Be generally curious, confident, and creative.
- The ability to think critically and the instinct to question everything.
Note that the-shiv puts a strong focus on accuracy and objectivity. We write fact-based news and analysis — this is not a marketing role.
Interns are accepted on a rolling basis.
