Vietnam’s footwear industry

Vietnam is a major global exporter of footwear, driven by a large manufacturing base, competitive labour costs, and deep integration into global supply chains.

The sector is heavily export-oriented, with key markets including the United States, the European Union, Japan, and South Korea, supported by multiple free trade agreements.

Production is dominated by foreign-invested enterprises, though domestic firms are gradually moving up the value chain into higher-value and branded segments.
