Vietnam’s cashew nut industry

Vietnam’s cashew nut industry is one of the largest globally, driven by strong export demand and a well-developed processing sector.

The country imports significant volumes of raw cashews, primarily from Africa, to support domestic processing and re-export activity.

Key markets include the USA, China, and the EU, with demand shaped by price competitiveness, food safety standards, and consumer trends.

Margins are sensitive to raw material costs, exchange rate movements, and fluctuations in global nut prices, creating volatility across the value chain.
