ToggleVietnam imported iron and steel to the tune of US$680 million in February, down from US$1,033 million in January, a change of -34.12 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam had imported US$1,713 million worth of iron and steel by the end of February.
China accounted for US$248 million worth of Vietnam’s iron and steel imports in February, down from US$446 million in January, a change of 44.30 percent. Year to date, China has shipped US$694 million worth of iron and steel to Vietnam.
Indonesia followed, accounting for US$164 million worth of Vietnam’s iron and steel imports in February, down from US$218 million in January, a change of 24.93 percent. Year to date, Indonesia has shipped US$379 million worth of iron and steel to Vietnam.
South Korea contributed US$96 million worth of Vietnam’s iron and steel imports in February, down from US$124 million in January, a change of 22.27 percent. Year to date, South Korea has shipped US$220 million worth of iron and steel to Vietnam.
Japan represented US$79 million worth of Vietnam’s iron and steel imports in February, down from US$100 million in January, a change of 21.17 percent. Year to date, Japan has shipped US$179 million worth of iron and steel to Vietnam.
India rounded out the top five with US$43 million worth of Vietnam’s iron and steel imports in February, down from US$45 million in January, a change of 4.24 percent. Year to date, India has shipped US$90 million worth of iron and steel to Vietnam.
