Vietnam’s chemical products industry
Vietnam’s chemical products industry spans fertilisers, basic petrochemicals, plastics, rubber inputs, industrial gases and a growing range of specialty chemicals serving manufacturing and agriculture.
The sector is anchored by large state-linked groups such as the Vietnam National Chemical Group, alongside foreign-invested producers supplying export-oriented factories.
Domestic demand is driven by construction, agriculture, electronics and textiles, while refining and petrochemical complexes like Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical support feedstock supply.
However, producers face structural challenges including reliance on imported inputs, environmental compliance pressures and exposure to global commodity price volatility.
