ToggleIn December, Vietnam imported US$3,122.03 million worth of goods from Taiwan, up from US$2,761.10 million in November, a change of 13.07 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has imported US$33,027 million worth of goods from Taiwan.
Vietnam imported US$2,262.26 million worth of computers, electrical products, spare-parts and components thereof from Taiwan in December. This was up from US$2,004.63 million in November, a change of 12.85 percent.
Vietnam imported US$149.62 million worth of machines, equipment, tools and instruments from Taiwan in December. This was up from US$144.26 million in November, a change of 3.72 percent.
Vietnam imported US$135.48 million worth of fabrics from Taiwan in December. This was up from US$116.39 million in November, a change of 16.40 percent.
Vietnam imported US$91.49 million worth of plastics from Taiwan in December. This was up from US$87.40 million in November, a change of 4.68 percent.
Vietnam imported US$80.77 million worth of chemicals from Taiwan in December. This was up from US$73.65 million in November, a change of 9.67 percent.

Vietnam exports to Taiwan
In December, Vietnam exported US$609 million worth of goods to Taiwan, up 7.87 percent over November, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$6,658 million worth of goods to Taiwan.

Vietnam trade with Taiwan
In December, Vietnam imported US$3,122.03 million worth of goods from Taiwan and exported US$608.76 million to Taiwan, for total trade worth US$3,730.78 million, and leaving a trade deficit of US$2,513.27 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Taiwan has reached US$39,685 million, with Vietnam importing US$33,027 million worth of goods and exporting US$6,658 million worth of goods.

Recent developments involving the two countries include:
Vietnam-Texas flights Taiwan airline
Taiwan’s EVA Air says it is expanding long-haul services linking Vietnam with Dallas-Fort Worth, offering five weekly flights and increasing to seven from 15 December 2025.
The airline says Vietnamese staff are deployed at Taipei and Dallas-Fort Worth airports to support travellers, including students and elderly passengers.

Vietnam-Taiwan trade relations
Vietnam and Taiwan have built strong trade ties over several decades, driven by complementary manufacturing bases and deep supply-chain integration in electronics, textiles, and machinery.
Trade has expanded steadily through bilateral business cooperation frameworks, despite the absence of formal diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Taiwan.
Taiwan is one of Vietnam’s largest sources of foreign direct investment, with Taiwanese firms playing a major role in export-oriented manufacturing and industrial parks.
Economic links have been reinforced by regional trade arrangements and regular business forums, supporting resilient two-way trade growth and long-term commercial cooperation.
