Vietnam’s plastics industry
Vietnam’s plastics industry is a key manufacturing sector, supplying packaging, construction materials, and components for export-oriented industries.
Domestic production is supported by strong demand from food processing, electronics, and consumer goods, but remains heavily reliant on imported raw materials.
The sector is shaped by growing environmental regulation, including restrictions on single-use plastics and increasing pressure to adopt recycling and circular economy practices.
Foreign investment and technological upgrades are expected to drive higher value-added production, particularly in engineering plastics and sustainable materials.
