AstraZeneca has been approved to transfer tech to Vietnam

Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) has approved the transfer of AstraZeneca technology and processes to Vietnamese partner the Medochemie Company, Scandasia is reporting. This transferred technology will be used to produce drugs in Vietnam to international standards .

FYI: Whereas China often insists that firms transfer technology to local partners in order to do business in the country, in Vietnam firms looking to utilise their own technology are required to get approval. There is an argument to be made that there are few downsides, if any, to technology transfers, however, the added bureaucracy might be off-putting.
