Vietnam-France trade relations

Vietnam and France have maintained long-standing trade relations rooted in historical ties and expanding economic cooperation since the early 1990s.

Bilateral trade has been supported by framework agreements on investment protection, double taxation avoidance, and economic cooperation.

A major milestone was the entry into force of the European Union-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, which France supports as a key European partner.

The agreement has reduced tariffs, improved market access, and strengthened cooperation in sectors such as energy, transport, agriculture, and services.
