France ships US$146.34 million of goods to Vietnam in October, down 12.89 percent

In October, Vietnam imported US$146 million worth of goods from France, down 12.89 percent over September, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

So far this year, Vietnam has imported US$1,677 million worth of goods from France.

Vietnam’s biggest import from France in value terms was pharmaceutical products, worth US$40.54 million. This was down 22.02 percent over September. It brings the total imported so far this year to US$417.66 million.

Machine, equipment, tools and instruments were also popular imports from France, totalling US$16.60 million, falling 9 percent over September. Cumulative imports now stand at US$200.46 million.

Other means of transportation, parts and accessories thereof also featured prominently, accounting for US$12.06 million worth of imports from France, an increase of 12.69 percent versus September. Total imports so far this year are sitting at US$287.83 million.

Imports of computers and components thereof from France round out the top five, valued at US$7.86 million.

Vietnam exports to France

In October, Vietnam exported US$342 million worth of goods to France, up 1.39 percent over September, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$3,323 million worth of goods to France.

Vietnam trade with France

In October, Vietnam imported US$146.34 million worth of goods from France and exported US$342.03 million, for total trade worth US$488.36 million, and leaving a trade surplus of US$195.69 million.

Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and France has reached US$4,999 million, with Vietnam importing US$1,677 million worth of goods and exporting US$3,323 million worth of goods.

Vietnam-France trade relations
