Computer & electrical products imports Vietnam, down 1.47 percent in November, China / South Korea top suppliers

Vietnam imported computers, electrical products, spare-parts and components thereof to the tune of US$12,907 million in November, down from US$13,100 million in October, a change of -1.47 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year to date, Vietnam had imported US$136,167 million worth of computers and electrical products by the end of November.

China accounted for US$4,781 million worth of Vietnam’s computers and electrical products imports in November. This was up from US$4,550 million in computers and electrical products imports in October, a change of 5.06 percent. Year to date, China has shipped US$47,826 million worth of computers and electrical products to Vietnam.

After China was South Korea making up US$3,128 million worth of Vietnam’s computers and electrical products imports in November. This was down from US$3,208 million in computers and electrical products imports in October, a change of 2.48 percent. Year to date, South Korea has shipped US$34,035 million worth of computers and electrical products to Vietnam.

Next was Taiwan contributing US$2,005 million worth of Vietnam’s computers and electrical products imports in November. This was down from US$2,200 million in computers and electrical products imports in October, a change of 8.89 percent. Year to date, Taiwan has shipped US$21,432 million worth of computers and electrical products to Vietnam.

Following Taiwan was Japan representing US$634 million worth of Vietnam’s computers and electrical products imports in November. This was down from US$777 million in computers and electrical products imports in October, a change of 18.44 percent. Year to date, Japan has shipped US$7,651 million worth of computers and electrical products to Vietnam.

Rounding out the top five was the USA constituting US$543 million worth of Vietnam’s computers and electrical products imports in November. This was up from US$376 million in computers and electrical products imports in October, a change of 44.35 percent. Year to date, the USA has shipped US$4,944 million worth of computers and electrical products to Vietnam.

VTB closed at VND 16,450 on Friday down 1.15 percent with 928,000 shares traded, worth VND 1,545 million.

Foreign ownership in VTB is currently capped at 49.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 1.6 percent.
