In November, Vietnam imported US$2,761.10 million worth of goods from Taiwan, down from US$2,990.01 million in October, a change of -7.66 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has imported US$29,875 million worth of goods from Taiwan.
Vietnam imported US$2,004.63 million worth of computers, electrical products, spare-parts and components thereof from Taiwan in November. This was down from US$2,200.17 million in October, a change of -8.89 percent.
Vietnam imported US$144.26 million worth of machines, equipment, tools and instruments from Taiwan in November. This was up from US$123.25 million in October, a change of 17.04 percent.
Vietnam imported US$116.39 million worth of fabrics from Taiwan in November. This was down from US$117.89 million in October, a change of -1.27 percent.
Vietnam imported US$87.40 million worth of plastics from Taiwan in November. This was down from US$91.05 million in October, a change of -4.01 percent.
Vietnam imported US$73.65 million worth of chemicals from Taiwan in November. This was up from US$52.79 million in October, a change of 39.50 percent.

In November, Vietnam exported US$564 million worth of goods to Taiwan, up 8.42 percent over October, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$6,038 million worth of goods to Taiwan.

Vietnam total trade with Taiwan
In November, Vietnam imported US$2,761.10 million worth of goods from Taiwan and exported US$564.32 million, for total trade worth US$3,325.42 million, and leaving a trade deficit of US$2,196.78 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Taiwan has reached US$35,913 million, with Vietnam importing US$29,875 million worth of goods and exporting US$6,038 million worth of goods.

Recent developments involving the two countries include:
Vietnam-Texas flights Taiwan airline
Taiwan’s EVA Air has said it is expanding long-haul services linking Vietnam with Dallas-Fort Worth, increasing to seven weekly flights from five from 15 December 2025.
Vietnamese staff are deployed at Taipei and Dallas-Fort Worth airports to support travellers, including students and elderly passengers, the airline has said.
Hong Kong-Taiwan EV factory Northern Vietnam
A delegation from Hong Kong and Taiwan, with representatives from Chengling Automobile and Zhaoling Electric Vehicle, has proposed a factory investment of about US$500 million (VND 13.2 trillion) in Thai Nguyen.
The plant would produce electric motorbikes, scooters, trucks, dump trucks, trailers and specialised vehicles.
Payday lender Taiwan cash injection
F88 has secured its first strategic loan from Taiwan’s leading financial group Chailease Holding.
The one-year loan was disbursed in early November through Chailease International Financial Services in Singapore.
An F88 representative said the funds will support digital transformation and business expansion in line with its commitments.

Vietnam-Taiwan trade relations
Vietnam and Taiwan have developed trade relations since the early 1990s, driven mainly by investment flows and production relocation rather than formal diplomatic agreements.
Cooperation has focused on manufacturing, with Taiwanese firms expanding operations in electronics, machinery, textiles and supporting industries across Vietnam.
Trade ties are underpinned by bilateral investment protection, double taxation avoidance arrangements and regular economic consultations.
Despite the absence of a free trade agreement, Taiwan remains one of Vietnam’s largest foreign investors and an important long term trade partner.
