ToggleVietnam exported ceramic products to the tune of US$61 million in October, 18.09 percent over September, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam had exported US$532 million worth of ceramic products by the end of October.
In October, Vietnam’s top export destination for ceramic products was the USA, accounting for US$15 million worth. This was up 21.09 percent over September. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$130 million worth of ceramic products to the USA.
After the USA, Japan was the next biggest buyer of ceramic products from Vietnam. There was US$7 million worth of ceramic products shipped from Vietnam to Japan in October, a fall of 5.61 percent. Its total for the year to date is now sitting at US$73 million.
Taiwan was also a major buyer, with US$4 million worth of ceramic products shipped to the country from Vietnam in October. This was a fall of 10.90 percent compared to September, for a total of US$53 million for the year so far.
Rounding out the top five was Thailand spending US$4 million on Vietnam’s ceramic products, a 26.11 percent change for a total of US$33 million for the year, and UK with US$4 million, a 67.67 percent change month-on-month, for a total of US$27 million.

CMC Joint Stock Company
CMC Joint Stock Company (CVT) manufactures ceramic tiles and building materials for domestic and export markets.
CVT closed at VND 26,650 on Friday up 0.05 percent with 37,000 shares traded, worth VND 98 million.
Foreign ownership in CVT is currently capped at 50.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 0.4 percent.
Viglacera Corporation
Viglacera Corporation (VGC) manufactures building materials, glass, ceramics, and develops industrial parks and real estate.
VGC closed at VND 44,000 on Friday down 0.8 percent with 6,064,000 shares traded, worth VND 26,814 million.
Foreign ownership in VGC is currently capped at 49.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 2.9 percent.

Vietnam’s ceramics industry has a long craft tradition and a strong export base.
Producers supply tiles, tableware, decorative items and sanitaryware to global markets.
Clusters such as Bat Trang and Binh Duong combine artisanal skills with industrial-scale production.
Export demand is supported by competitive labour costs and improving product quality.
