ToggleVietnam’s exports to the United States fell slightly in September, likewise imports edged down, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
This saw Vietnam’s trade surplus with the United States narrow 1.14percent.
USA–Vietnam trade balance
Vietnam’s trade surplus with the US narrowed slightly in September, with exports down 1.53 percent month-on-month to US$13.72 billion and imports falling 4.55 percent to US$1.52 billion.
The monthly trade balance stood at US$12.20 billion, down 1.14 percent from August, bringing the year-to-date surplus to US$99.11 billion.

Vietnam exports to USA
Vietnam’s exports to the United States in September reached US$13.72 billion, down 1.53 percent month-on-month.
Computers, electrical products, and spare parts remained the largest export at US$4.18 billion, rising 8.26 percent from August and totalling US$30.28 billion year-to-date.
Machinery, equipment, tools, and instruments followed at US$2.25 billion, up 18.89 percent month-on-month, while textiles and garments dropped 20.05 percent to US$1.42 billion.
Telephones and parts fell 24.38 percent to US$804.71 million, and footwear declined 27.21 percent to US$611.54 million.
Toys and sports requisites increased 7.02 percent to US$771.52 million, while wood and wooden products slipped 3.67 percent to US$766.98 million.

Vietnam imports from the USA
Computers and electrical products remained the largest import at US$454.78 million, down 2.17 percent.
Machinery and tools fell 5.88 percent to US$118.38 million, while cotton plunged 32.83 percent to US$81.29 million.
In contrast, pharmaceutical imports surged 143.4 percent to US$64.65 million, and plastics rose 27.85 percent to US$111.15 million.
Total imports from this market reached US$13.66 billion year-to-date, led by electronics and machinery.
