Vietnam’s LPG industry

Vietnam’s gas industry plays a key role in meeting household and industrial energy demand, particularly for cooking, heating, and small-scale manufacturing.

Domestic production remains limited, with supply largely reliant on imports, making the sector sensitive to global energy prices and external supply shocks.

The industry is characterised by a mix of state-owned enterprises and private distributors, with infrastructure spanning import terminals, storage facilities, and nationwide cylinder distribution networks.

Growth in urbanisation and rising incomes continues to support LPG consumption, though longer-term demand may face competition from electrification and alternative energy sources.
