ToggleVietnam imported machine, equipment, tools and instruments to the tune of US$5,281 million in October, down 2.34 percent over September, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam had imported US$49,553 million worth of machines and equipment by the end of October.
In October, Vietnam’s top supplier of machines and equipment was China, accounting for US$3,216 million worth. This was down 5.43 percent over September. Year to date, China has shipped US$31,409 million worth of machines and equipment to Vietnam.
After China, Japan was the next biggest supplier. It shipped US$385 million worth of machines & equipment to Vietnam in October, a fall of 0.87 percent. Its total for the year to date is now sitting at US$4,042 million.
South Korea was also a major supplier, shipping US$362 million worth of machines and equipment to Vietnam in October. This was a fall of 0.93 percent, for a total of US$3,818 million for the year.
Rounding out the top five was Germany with US$167 million, a 12.61 percent change month-on-month, for a total of US$1,274 million for the year, and the USA with US$130 million, a 9.61 percent change for a total of US$1,040 million.

Foreign ownership in DMC is currently capped at 100.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 56.7 percent.
Dien Quang Lamp JSC
Dien Quang Lamp JSC (DQC) manufactures and distributes lighting equipment, electrical accessories, and smart lighting systems.
DQC closed at VND 10,700 on Thursday down 0 percent with 160,000 shares traded, worth VND 171 million.
Foreign ownership in DQC is currently capped at 0.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 0.0 percent.
