Vietnam’s fabrics industry

Vietnam’s fabrics industry plays a central role in supporting the country’s garment and textile exports.

The sector produces a wide range of woven, knitted, and non-woven materials used in apparel, upholstery, and industrial applications.

With growing investment in dyeing, finishing, and high-performance textiles, Vietnam is gradually reducing dependence on imported fabric and strengthening its domestic supply chain.

Despite strong growth, the industry still relies heavily on imports for high-quality yarns and synthetic fibres, particularly from China, South Korea, and Taiwan.

Environmental regulations, wastewater treatment, and sustainable production remain key challenges.

Continued investment in technology and green innovation will be vital for Vietnam’s fabric producers to compete in global markets.
