ToggleIn November, Vietnam imported US$465.67 million worth of goods from Singapore, down from US$492.69 million in October, a change of -5.48 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has imported US$5,410 million worth of goods from Singapore.
Vietnam imported US$132.80 million worth of computers, electrical products, spare-parts and components thereof from Singapore in November. This was up from US$103.37 million in October, a change of 28.47 percent.
Vietnam imported US$111.61 million worth of petroleum products from Singapore in November. This was down from US$160.17 million in October, a change of -30.32 percent.
Vietnam imported US$40.25 million worth of other petroleum products from Singapore in November. This was down from US$41.50 million in October, a change of -3.00 percent.
Vietnam imported US$38.20 million worth of machines, equipment, tools and instruments from Singapore in November. This was down from US$42.71 million in October, a change of -10.58 percent.
Vietnam imported US$33.53 million worth of essential oils and resinoids; perfumery, cosmetic or toilet preparations from Singapore in November. This was down from US$40.53 million in October, a change of -17.27 percent.

Vietnam exports to Singapore
In November, Vietnam exported US$433 million worth of goods to Singapore, down 16.39 percent over October, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$5,284 million worth of goods to Singapore.

Vietnam trade with Singapore
In November, Vietnam imported US$465.67 million worth of goods from Singapore and exported US$433.06 million to Singapore, for total trade worth US$898.73 million, and leaving a trade deficit of US$32.61 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Singapore has reached US$10,694 million, with Vietnam importing US$5,410 million worth of goods and exporting US$5,284 million worth of goods.

Recent developments involving the two countries include:
Vinamilk divestment
Singapore’s Jardine Cycle and Carriage will sell 96 million Vinamilk shares, equivalent to 4.6 percent, to F and N Dairy Investments for VND 6.01 trillion (US$228 million).
The sale will be executed via wholly owned subsidiary Platinum Victory at VND 62,555 per share, reducing its Vinamilk stake from 10.62% to 6.02%.
Following completion, F and N’s combined ownership in Vinamilk will rise from 20.39% to 24.99%, while Platinum Victory’s board representative will step down.
US-Singapore JV soy bean plant
A U.S.–Singapore joint venture has invested more than US$100 million to add a second soybean crushing line in southern Vietnam.
Vietnam Agriculture Limited, owned by Bunge and Wilmar International, inaugurated the new 4,000-ton-per-day line at Phu My 1 Industrial Park, raising total capacity to 7,800 tons daily.

Vietnam-Singapore trade relations
Vietnam and Singapore established diplomatic relations in 1973 and have since built deep trade and investment ties, supported by the ASEAN Free Trade Area and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership.
Bilateral relations were elevated to a Strategic Partnership in 2013, with cooperation expanding through Vietnam Singapore Industrial Parks and agreements covering trade facilitation, investment and digital economy cooperation.
