Processed seafood production in Vietnam up 0.92 percent in September 2025

Vietnam’s processed seafood production rose slightly by 0.92 percent in September 2025 to 668 thousand tons from 661 thousand tons in August, according to the National Statistics Office.

Over the first nine months of 2025, production reached 5.31 million tons, up 9 percent compared with the same period last year.

Output in September was 14 percent higher than in September 2024, reflecting steady growth in processing capacity and export demand.

Vietnam’s seafood industry remains a key pillar of its agri-food exports, supported by diversification into high-value processed products and expanding markets across Asia, Europe, and North America.

Vietnam seafood exports September

Vietnam’s fishery exports declined slightly in September, totalling US$1.01 billion, down 5.63 percent from August.

Shipments to major markets weakened across the board as demand softened and supply constraints persisted.

Exports to China fell 2.08 percent month-on-month, while exports to the United States dropped 3.75 percent and Japan decreased 9.04 percent.

Sales to South Korea declined 4.89 percent, the United Kingdom 22.04 percent, and Canada 17.15 percent, reflecting slower orders ahead of the year-end period.

Vinh Hoan Corporation (VHC) is a leading Vietnamese seafood exporter that farms and processes pangasius and other value-added products for global markets.

VHC closed at VND 51,900 on Monday down 2.5 percent with 14,669,000 shares traded, worth VND 78,504 million.

Foreign ownership in VHC is currently capped at 100 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 19 percent.

Sao Ta Foods Joint Stock Company (FMC) farms, processes, and exports shrimp and other aquatic products, including breaded and pre-fried items.

FMC closed at VND 34,850 on Monday down 0.4 percent with 741,000 shares traded, worth VND 2,651 million.

Foreign ownership in FMC is currently capped at 50 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 31 percent.

Mekong Fisheries Joint Stock Company (AAM) processes and exports frozen and fresh fish such as pangasius fillets, octopus, and cuttlefish from its base in the Mekong Delta.

AAM closed at VND 7,100 on Monday down 0.1 percent with 15,000 shares traded, worth VND 11 million.

Foreign ownership in AAM is currently capped at 49 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 0.8 percent.
