Plastics imports Vietnam, down 0.03 percent in November, China / South Korea top suppliers

Vietnam imported plastics to the tune of US$1,003 million in November, down from US$1,003 million in October, a change of -0.03 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year to date, Vietnam had imported US$11,385 million worth of plastics by the end of November.

China accounted for US$329 million worth of Vietnam’s plastics imports in November. This was down from US$329 million in plastics imports in October, a change of 0.08 percent. Year to date, China has shipped US$3,513 million worth of plastics to Vietnam.

After China was South Korea making up US$166 million worth of Vietnam’s plastics imports in November. This was down from US$167 million in plastics imports in October, a change of 0.73 percent. Year to date, South Korea has shipped US$1,975 million worth of plastics to Vietnam.

Next was the USA contributing US$106 million worth of Vietnam’s plastics imports in November. This was up from US$89 million in plastics imports in October, a change of 18.90 percent. Year to date, the USA has shipped US$1,050 million worth of plastics to Vietnam.

Following the USA was Taiwan representing US$87 million worth of Vietnam’s plastics imports in November. This was down from US$91 million in plastics imports in October, a change of 4.01 percent. Year to date, Taiwan has shipped US$1,072 million worth of plastics to Vietnam.

Rounding out the top five was Saudi Arabia constituting US$75 million worth of Vietnam’s plastics imports in November. This was up from US$69 million in plastics imports in October, a change of 7.72 percent. Year to date, Saudi Arabia has shipped US$832 million worth of plastics to Vietnam.

An Phat Holdings JSC (APH) is a plastics and green materials conglomerate producing biodegradable packaging, engineering plastics, and recycled materials.

APH closed at VND 6,340 on Monday down 0.08 percent with 7,877,000 shares traded, worth VND 4,986 million.

Foreign ownership in APH is currently capped at 0.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 0.0 percent.

Binh Minh Plastics JSC

Binh Minh Plastics JSC (BMP) manufactures and distributes plastic pipes, fittings, and construction materials for water and drainage systems.

BMP closed at VND 176,200 on Monday up 2.2 percent with 1,378,000 shares traded, worth VND 24,015 million.
