Vietnam-France trade relations
Vietnam–France trade relations are underpinned by historical ties and formalised through the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, which entered into force in 2020 and progressively removes tariffs on most goods and services.
Economic links date back to the colonial period but have expanded significantly since the 1990s, with France now one of Vietnam’s leading European trading partners and investors in sectors such as aerospace, energy, pharmaceuticals and infrastructure.
