ToggleVietnam exported still image, video cameras and parts thereof to the tune of US$875 million in October, 3.82 percent over September, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam had exported US$6,743 million worth of still image, video cameras and parts thereof by the end of October.
In October, Vietnam’s top export destination for digital cameras was China, accounting for US$549 million worth. This was up 8.12 percent over September. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$3,578 million worth to China.
After China, the USA was the next biggest buyer of still image, video cameras and parts thereof from Vietnam. There was US$152 million worth shipped from Vietnam to the USA in October, a fall of 3.72 percent. Its total for the year to date is now sitting at US$1,380 million.
South Korea was also a major buyer, with US$33 million worth shipped to the country from Vietnam in October. This was a up 5.04 percent compared to September, for a total of US$356 million for the year so far.
Rounding out the top five was Hong Kong spending US$17 million on Vietnam’s still image, video cameras and parts thereof, a -15.65 percent change for a total of US$204 million for the year, and Japan with US$13 million, a -18.72 percent change month-on-month, for a total of US$120 million.

DGW closed at VND 44,900 on Friday up 0.5 percent with 27,902,000 shares traded, worth VND 124,048 million.
Foreign ownership in DGW is currently capped at 49.4 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 21.7 percent.
FPT Retail JSC
FPT Retail JSC (FRT) operates FPT Shop and F.Studio retail chains selling electronics, phones, and IT products.
FRT closed at VND 142,300 on Friday up 0.1 percent with 2,965,000 shares traded, worth VND 42,031 million.
Foreign ownership in FRT is currently capped at 49.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 32.5 percent.
Mobile World Investment Corporation
Mobile World Investment Corporation (MWG) runs retail chains including Thegioididong, Dien May Xanh, and Bach Hoa Xanh, selling electronics and groceries.
MWG closed at VND 80,000 on Friday down 1 percent with 83,316,000 shares traded, worth VND 659,852 million.
Foreign ownership in MWG is currently capped at 49.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 46.5 percent.
Viettronics Tan Binh JSC
Viettronics Tan Binh JSC (VTB) manufactures and trades electrical appliances, lighting, and consumer electronics.
VTB closed at VND 18,500 on Friday up 1.2 percent with 1,122,000 shares traded, worth VND 2,064 million.
Foreign ownership in VTB is currently capped at 49.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 1.7 percent.

New footwear parts factory Ninh Binh
US firm OrthoLite, performance insoles and foam components for footwear, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Ninh Binh as part of its push for local-for-local production in Vietnam.
The company says that the site will cut lead times, strengthen supply chain resilience, and provide vertically integrated production for nearby partners and tier 1 factories.
Boeing parts Danang
On 7 November, KP Aerospace Vietnam held a ceremony at its KP Vina Aerospace Parts Plant in Da Nang High-Tech Park to mark the export of its first batch of aircraft components serving Boeing’s supply chain in South Korea.
The US$20 million, 2-hectare plant, approved in December 2023, produces precision-machined parts including Boeing 787 wing tips and 737 Max flap support assemblies meeting NADCAP standards.
KP Aerospace reportedly plans to expand production for Boeing 737 Max, hire more engineers, and cooperate with the Da Nang University of Science and Technology for training and OJT programmes.
US semiconductor firm meets provincial leaders Bac Ninh
Qorvo, a US-based semiconductor company, met with Bac Ninh authorities on 10 November to discuss cooperation in chip manufacturing and technology transfer.
The company, which reported annual revenue of US$3.7 billion, already works with Amkor, Luxshare, and Sunshine Technology on chip design and component production in the province.
Qorvo has opened a representative office in Bac Ninh and reportedly plans to establish a research and development centre focused on advanced semiconductor packaging.

Vietnam’s camera manufacturing industry has expanded as global electronics brands shift production to Southeast Asia.
The country now hosts a mix of multinational firms and supporting suppliers that assemble digital cameras, security cameras, and specialised optical components.
Growth has been supported by competitive labour costs, strong export infrastructure, and rising demand for surveillance and smart home devices.
