Vietnam-South Korea trade relations
Vietnam and South Korea established diplomatic relations in 1992 and have since developed one of Asia’s most dynamic economic partnerships.
Trade between the two countries has grown rapidly under the Vietnam–Korea Free Trade Agreement (VKFTA) signed in 2015, complementing their commitments under ASEAN–Korea frameworks.
South Korea is now one of Vietnam’s largest trading partners and top investors, with major conglomerates such as Samsung, LG, and Hyosung deeply integrated into Vietnam’s manufacturing supply chains.
The partnership continues to expand beyond trade into technology cooperation, finance, and infrastructure development.
