Vietnam’s cashew nut industry
Vietnam is the world’s largest exporter of processed cashew kernels, accounting for a significant portion of global trade.
The industry’s core strength lies in large-scale processing capacity.
However, most of its raw cashew nuts are imported—mainly from the Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Cambodia—due to limited domestic cultivation.
Despite narrowing profit margins from fluctuating raw-nut prices, Vietnam maintains its global leadership through efficient processing, consistent export quality, and growing investment in value-added products.
