Vietnam and Germany maintain one of the most robust trade relationships between Southeast Asia and Europe.
Germany is Vietnam’s largest trading partner in the European Union, serving as a key market for machinery, electronics, textiles, and coffee.
Bilateral trade continues to expand under the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement, which has reduced tariffs and streamlined customs procedures.
Vietnam primarily exports machinery, electronic components, garments, and agricultural goods to Germany, while importing industrial equipment, chemicals, and high-tech products.
German firms have also increased investment in Vietnam’s manufacturing and renewable energy sectors, deepening economic ties and supporting Vietnam’s integration into global value chains.
