Vietnam toys and sporting goods exports down 23.29% in January 2026 / USA -40.95%, Japan +58.33%

Vietnam exported toys and sporting goods to the tune of US$723 million in January, down from US$942 million in December, a change of -23.29 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year to date, Vietnam had exported US$723 million worth of toys and sporting goods by the end of January.

The USA accounted for US$357 million worth of Vietnam’s toys and sporting goods exports in January. This was down from US$604 million in toys and sporting goods exports in December, a change of -40.95 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$357 million worth of toys and sporting goods to the USA.

After the USA was Japan making up US$89 million worth of Vietnam’s toys and sporting goods exports in January. This was up from US$56 million in toys and sporting goods exports in December, a change of 58.33 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$89 million worth of toys and sporting goods to Japan.

Next was Germany taking US$48 million worth of Vietnam’s toys and sporting goods exports in January. This was up from US$21 million in toys and sporting goods exports in December, a change of 123.61 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$48 million worth of toys and sporting goods to Germany.

Following Germany was the Netherlands representing US$30 million worth of Vietnam’s toys and sporting goods exports in January. This was up from US$28 million in toys and sporting goods exports in December, a change of 9.36 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$30 million worth of toys and sporting goods to the Netherlands.

Rounding out the top five was the UK constituting US$30 million worth of Vietnam’s toys and sporting goods exports in January. This was down from US$45 million in toys and sporting goods exports in December, a change of -34.37 percent. Year to date, Vietnam has shipped US$30 million worth of toys and sporting goods to the UK.
