Vietnam’s aquaculture feed industry

Vietnam’s aquaculture feed industry underpins one of the country’s largest export sectors, supplying inputs for shrimp, pangasius, and other farmed species.

The market is dominated by a mix of multinational firms and domestic producers, with feed costs accounting for a significant share of total aquaculture production expenses.

Demand is driven by export growth, rising global seafood consumption, and the expansion of intensive farming models that require higher-quality, formulated feed.

However, the industry faces pressures from volatile raw material prices, import dependence for key inputs, and tightening environmental and traceability standards in export markets.
