ToggleVietnam imported milk and milk products to the tune of US$164 million in December, up from US$106 million in November, a change of 55.51 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year to date, Vietnam had imported US$1,437 million worth of milk and milk products by the end of December.
New Zealand accounted for US$61 million worth of Vietnam’s milk and milk products imports in December. This was up from US$35 million in milk and milk products imports in November, a change of 74.46 percent. Year to date, New Zealand has shipped US$438 million worth of milk and milk products to Vietnam.
After New Zealand was Australia making up US$19 million worth of Vietnam’s milk and milk products imports in December. This was up from US$9 million in milk and milk products imports in November, a change of 116.79 percent. Year to date, Australia has shipped US$129 million worth of milk and milk products to Vietnam.
Next was the USA contributing US$16 million worth of Vietnam’s milk and milk products imports in December. This was up from US$8 million in milk and milk products imports in November, a change of 95.85 percent. Year to date, USA has shipped US$126 million worth of milk and milk products to Vietnam.
Following USA was Ireland representing US$7 million worth of Vietnam’s milk and milk products imports in December. This was down from US$10 million in milk and milk products imports in November, a change of 31.21 percent. Year to date, Ireland has shipped US$74 million worth of milk and milk products to Vietnam.
Rounding out the top five was Germany constituting US$6 million worth of Vietnam’s milk and milk products imports in December. This was up from US$3 million in milk and milk products imports in November, a change of 88.63 percent. Year to date, Germany has shipped US$80 million worth of milk and milk products to Vietnam.

Foreign ownership in MCM is currently capped at 100.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 0.0 percent.
Vietnam Dairy Products JSC
Vietnam Dairy Products JSC (VNM) manufactures and distributes milk and dairy products under the Vinamilk brand.
VNM closed at VND 70,300 on Wednesday down 3.1 percent with 112,341,000 shares traded, worth VND 800,043 million.
Foreign ownership in VNM is currently capped at 100.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 50.5 percent.

Vinamilk ownership change
Singapore’s Jardine Cycle and Carriage will sell 96 million Vinamilk shares, equivalent to 4.6 percent, to F and N Dairy Investments for VND 6.01 trillion (US$228 million), it was reported in mid-December.
The sale will be executed via wholly owned subsidiary Platinum Victory at VND 62,555 per share, reducing its Vinamilk stake from 10.62 percent to 6.02 percent.
