Malaysia buys US$473 million of Vietnam’s exports in November, up 3.20 percent month-on-month

In November, Vietnam exported US$473 million worth of goods to Malaysia, up 3.20 percent over October, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$4,806 million worth of goods to Malaysia.

Vietnam exported US$73.81 million worth of computers, electrical products, and spare-parts to Malaysia in November. This was up from US$71.63 million in October, a change of 3.05 percent.

Adding to that, Vietnam exported US$61.89 million worth of machines, equipment, tools and instruments to Malaysia in November. This was up from US$58.70 million in October, a change of 5.43 percent.

It also exported US$32.44 million worth of iron and steel to Malaysia in November. This was down from US$36.04 million in October, a change of -9.98 percent.

Finally, Vietnam exported US$24.61 million worth of rice to Malaysia in November. This was up from US$20.96 million in October, a change of 17.45 percent.

Vietnam trade with Malaysia

In November, Vietnam imported US$805.98 million worth of goods from Malaysia and exported US$472.55 million to Malaysia, for total trade worth US$1,278.53 million, and leaving a trade deficit of US$333.43 million.

Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Malaysia has reached US$14,780 million, with Vietnam importing US$9,974 million worth of goods and exporting US$4,806 million worth of goods.

Vietnam-Malaysia trade relations

Vietnam and Malaysia established diplomatic relations in 1973 and upgraded ties to a strategic partnership in 2015, creating a stable framework for expanding bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
