Vietnam-Italy trade relations
Vietnam and Italy established diplomatic relations in 1973 and upgraded their ties to a strategic partnership in 2013.
Italy is one of Vietnam’s largest trading partners in the European Union, with cooperation expanding in manufacturing, renewable energy, fashion, and food processing.
Bilateral trade has grown steadily, supported by the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), which has lowered tariffs and boosted access to each other’s markets.
Italian investment in Vietnam focuses on machinery, industrial equipment, and renewable energy, while Vietnam exports consumer goods, coffee, footwear, and electronics to Italy.
