ToggleIn October, Vietnam exported US$836 million worth of goods to India, up 0.10 percent over September, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$8,561 million worth of goods to India.
Vietnam’s biggest export to India in value terms was telephones, mobile phones and parts thereof, with US$167.73 million worth shipped. This was up 10.43 percent over September. It brings the total exported so far this year to US$1,898.01 million.
This was followed by computers, electrical products, and spare-parts, valued at US$126.76 million, down 35.43 percent from September. Year-to-date these exports reached US$1,385.06 million.
Machines, equipment, tools and instruments were also popular with exports to India, totalling US$126.68 million, rising 41.58 percent over September. Cumulative shipments now stand at US$885.95 million.
Exports of other base metals and other base metal products to India round out the top five, with US$79.36 million shipped.

Vietnam imports from India
In October, Vietnam imported US$505 million worth of goods from India, up 1.44 percent over September, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has imported US$4,862 million worth of goods from India.

Vietnam total trade with India
In October, Vietnam imported goods worth US$504.72 million from India and exported US$836.19 million, bringing total trade to US$1,340.91 million and resulting in a trade surplus of US$331.48 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and India has reached US$13,423.04 million, with Vietnam importing US$4,861.73 million worth of goods and exporting US$8,561.30 million.

VinFast car sales India
Vietnam’s VinFast sold 131 units in India in October 2025.

India Vietnam steel anti-dumping duty
India has imposed a five-year anti-dumping duty on hot-rolled flat steel imports from Vietnam.
The Finance Ministry’s decision followed findings from the Directorate General of Trade Remedies on 13 August 2025, which concluded that Vietnamese exporters were selling steel below normal value and harming Indian producers.
All Vietnamese suppliers, except Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel JSC, will face a duty of US$121.55 per tonne on the specified products.

Vietnam-India trade relations
Vietnam and India established diplomatic relations in the 70s and have since built a steady economic partnership grounded in shared strategic interests.
Trade cooperation expanded significantly after the launch of Vietnam’s Doi Moi reforms and India’s Look East and Act East policies, creating a framework for deeper commercial ties.
