ToggleIn October, Vietnam exported US$1.4 billion worth of goods to Hong Kong, down 22.51 percent over September, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$14,329 million worth of goods to Hong Kong.
Vietnam’s biggest export to Hong Kong in value terms was computers, electrical products, and spare-parts, with US$761.98 million worth shipped. This was down 34.78 percent over September. It brings the total exported so far this year to US$8,813.09 million.
This was followed by machine, equipment, tools and instruments, valued at US$408.89 million, up 31.28 percent from September. Year-to-date these exports reached US$2,949.19 million.
Telephones, mobile phones and parts thereof were also popular with exports to Hong Kong totalling US$56.17 million, falling 57.85 percent over September. Cumulative shipments now stand at US$1,117.13 million.
Exports of textiles and garments to Hong Kong round out the top four, with US$23.09 million shipped.

Vietnam trade with Hong Kong
In October, Vietnam imported US$58.43 million worth of goods from Hong Kong and exported US$1,383.24 million, for total trade worth US$1,441.67 million, and leaving a trade surplus of US$1,324.82 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Hong Kong has reached US$15,061 million, with Vietnam importing US$732 million worth of goods and exporting US$14,329 million worth of goods.

Vietnam-Hong Kong trade relations
Vietnam and Hong Kong have developed strong trade relations over several decades, supported by their roles as regional trading hubs.
Bilateral commerce has grown through the exchange of textiles, electronics, machinery and consumer goods.
Investment flows have expanded alongside trade, with Hong Kong firms active in manufacturing, logistics and real estate in Vietnam.
