Vietnam cashew nut news
Cashew industry outlook uncertain
Vietnam’s cashew industry is facing growing pressure as African producers expand domestic processing, threatening the country’s long-standing supply of raw cashews, Dan Tri was reporting in late November.
it quoted Vietnam Cashew Association (VINACAS) Chairman Pham Van Cong as saying countries such as Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Tanzania are restricting raw exports and investing heavily in their own processing facilities, adding that stricter ESG and traceability standards in markets such as the US and EU are creating additional challenges for Vietnamese processors.

Vietnam’s cashew nut industry
Vietnam’s cashew nut industry is among the world’s largest, accounting for a significant portion of global trade.
The industry’s core strength lies in large-scale processing capacity.
However, most of its raw cashew nuts are imported—mainly from the Ivory Coast, Ghana, and Cambodia—due to limited domestic cultivation.
Despite narrowing profit margins from fluctuating raw-nut prices, Vietnam maintains its global leadership through efficient processing, consistent export quality, and growing investment in value-added products.
