Of note, Vietnam and France maintain a strong trade relationship marked by consistent growth in key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, machinery, and consumer goods.

France is among Vietnam’s major European partners, with bilateral trade supported by long-standing economic and diplomatic ties under the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

The agreement has enhanced market access and reduced tariffs, fostering greater cooperation in high-value industries including healthcare, technology, and luxury goods.

Vietnam primarily exports textiles, footwear, seafood, and electronics to France, while importing pharmaceuticals, machinery, and transport equipment.

The trade balance generally favours Vietnam, reflecting its competitive manufacturing base and growing presence in the EU market.
