Vietnam’s cashew nut industry
Vietnam is one of the world’s leading cashew nut processors and exporters, supplying kernels to markets across Asia, Europe and North America.
The industry relies on a combination of domestic raw cashew production and large volumes of imported nuts for processing and re export.
Cashew processing supports hundreds of thousands of rural jobs and is concentrated in the southern provinces and the Central Highlands.
The sector faces challenges from price volatility, raw material supply constraints and rising quality and sustainability requirements in export markets.
