Phone components production in Vietnam up 15.25 percent in November

Vietnam produced VND 73.92 trillion worth of phone components in November, up 15.25 percent from VND 64.14 trillion in October, according to the latest data from the National Statistics Office.

Over the first ten months of the year, output reached 570.74 trillion dong.

Mobile World Investment Corporation

Mobile World Investment Corporation (MWG) runs retail chains including Thegioididong, Dien May Xanh, and Bach Hoa Xanh, selling electronics and groceries.

MWG closed at VND 87,000 on Friday up 1 percent with 93,102,000 shares traded, worth VND 785,411 million.

Foreign ownership in MWG is currently capped at 49.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 47.1 percent.

FPT Retail JSC

FPT Retail JSC (FRT) operates FPT Shop and F.Studio retail chains selling electronics, phones, and IT products.

FRT closed at VND 144,200 on Friday down 1.8 percent with 2,165,000 shares traded, worth VND 31,084 million.

Foreign ownership in FRT is currently capped at 49.0 percent, with current foreign ownership sitting at 32.4 percent.

Vietnam phone / phone parts imports

Vietnam imported telephones, mobile phones and parts thereof to the tune of US$853 million in November, down from US$1,208 million in October, a change of -29.42 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year to date, Vietnam had imported US$10,256 million worth of phones and phone parts by the end of November.

Vietnam exported telephones, mobile phones and parts thereof to the tune of US$3,990 million in November, down from US$5,082 million in October, a change of -21.50 percent, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

Year to date, Vietnam had exported US$52,658 million worth of telephones, mobile phones and parts thereof by the end of November.

Foxconn Bac Ninh expansion

Foxconn’s subsidiary Fushan Technology is seeking approval to expand its Bac Ninh plant to produce unmanned aerial vehicles and Xbox gaming devices as part of an VND 8.4 trillion (US$317 million) project.

The company plans to add three new production lines, lifting total capacity to 198.23 million products a year across 38 lines in three workshops.

It aims to assemble 100,000 UAVs annually, raise mobile-phone output to 140 million units and add 4.8 million Xbox devices and related components.
