ToggleIn October, Vietnam exported US$275 million worth of goods to Belgium, down 6.74 percent over September, according to preliminary data from Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
So far this year, Vietnam has exported US$3,019 million worth of goods to Belgium.
Vietnam’s biggest export to Belgium in value terms was footwear, with US$121.65 million worth shipped. This was up 9.76 percent over September. It brings the total exported so far this year to US$1028.50 million.
This was followed by textiles and garments, valued at US$35.54 million, down 10.19 percent from September. Year-to-date these exports reached US$377.66 million.
Iron and steel also featured prominently accounting for US$16.40 million worth of exports to Belgium, a decline of 46.48 percent versus September. Total exports so far this year are US$291.36 million.
Exports of machine, equipment, tools and instruments to Belgium round out the top five, with US$15.61 million shipped.

Vietnam trade with Belgium
In October, Vietnam imported US$61.45 million worth of goods from Belgium and exported US$274.68 million, for total trade worth US$336.14 million, and leaving a trade surplus of US$213.23 million.
Two-way trade so far this year between Vietnam and Belgium has reached US$3,684 million, with Vietnam importing US$665 million worth of goods and exporting US$3,019 million worth of goods.

Vietnam-Belgium trade relations
Vietnam and Belgium maintain longstanding trade relations grounded in diplomatic ties established in the 1970s.
Bilateral trade has grown steadily, supported by cooperation within the EU framework.
The EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement provides tariff reductions that benefit both markets.
Key Vietnamese exports to Belgium include electronics, footwear, textiles and agricultural products.
Belgium exports pharmaceuticals, machinery, chemicals and high-tech equipment to Vietnam.
