Vietnam’s exports of paper and paper products fell by 15.16 percent month-on-month in January, reaching US$148.81 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Processing and manufacturing industry output in Vietnam sees January fall
Vietnam’s processing and manufacturing industry increased by 72.6 percent in January compared to the 2019 baseline, according to Vietnam’s Industrial Production Index. However, this was lower than December 2024, when output stood at 92.8 percent above 2019 levels.

Vietnam’s imports of precious stones and precious metals decreased by 36.76 percent month-on-month in January, reaching US$55.43 million, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs. This follows a significant decline from US$87.64 million recorded in December.
Hong Kong firms add US$161.05 million to Vietnam’s January FDI tally
In January, Hong Kong firms contributed US$161.05 million in foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam across 32 new projects, according to data from Vietnam’s Ministry of Planning and Investment. This represents a decline of US$546.28 million compared to December, which saw US$707.33 million in registered capital with 44 new projects.

Vietnam’s exports of wood and wooden products fell 10.32 percent month-on-month to US$1.42 billion in January, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
German tourist arrivals in Vietnam rise in January
Vietnam welcomed 27,994 tourists from Germany in January, accounting for 1.4 percent of total international arrivals, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism. This represents a 19.3 percent increase from December and a 22.9 percent rise year-on-year.
