Vietnam’s wood and wooden product exports decline 10.32 percent in January

Vietnam’s exports of wood and wooden products fell 10.32 percent month-on-month to US$1.42 billion in January, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.

The USA remained the top destination, accounting for 55.00 percent of total exports at US$780.38 million, a decline of 12.06 percent from December. Japan followed with US$166.29 million, down 8.08 percent, while exports to China rose slightly by 1.58 percent to US$139.10 million.

South Korea and India saw declines of 13.09 percent and 14.46 percent, respectively, with shipments totaling US$73.66 million and US$32.65 million. In contrast, Canada and the UK recorded growth, rising 11.17 percent and 10.78 percent to US$27.27 million and US$25.59 million, respectively.

Despite the overall decrease, Sweden and Chile experienced significant increases, with exports rising 30.96 percent and 53.56 percent, respectively. However, European markets such as Germany, France, and Italy saw notable declines, contributing to the overall downward trend.
